What does the timekeeper do when their clock runs backwards sideways and upside down?
If you noticed that we missed our usual non-firm Monday schedule this week, it’s largely attributable to the sudden re-alignment of so many different moving parts of the system all at once.
Geostrategy Magazine is at a challenging crossroads. It is one that we will overcome and move forward stronger because of.

Many departments of the United States Government are still offering data to the public because there is not currently a blanket ban on doing so, although certain of them seem to have removed important material from their websites. One very important institution that still offers its libraries to the public is the CIA. The situation on that front as of now is far from ideal but not unworkably dire.
Fortunately private institutions such as the Internet Archive and various individual researchers are maintaining at least some of these records.
Domestic sources aren’t the only source of information still viable for our reporting. Foreign allied governments continue to make public many of their reports and Open Source Intelligence remains a strong advantage for us.
Our understanding of institutions and knowledge of who operates within them, on the other hand, will take some retooling. Many things have changed and many people are gone. A new period is upon us in which we must step back and assess the situation before commenting on it.
We don’t have the breakdown on how every gear is turning right now, but I suspect we’ve cultivated an audience that on average prefers measured analysis to the journalistic equivalent of ambulance chasing.

I’ve already had one writer make a completely justified request to pull an article they were right about to publish because things have simply changed too fast to keep up with. It underscores for me that now is the time to listen and watch before speaking.
There are some things we still know well enough to talk about and you’ll be hearing about those very soon in our next article. In the meantime, though, there’s a lot of research going on behind the scenes.
Thank you for sticking with us on this incredible journey!
I’m excited to discover the next chapter of Geostrategy Magazine together with you very soon!
